I love this site! Most function works on web browsers on Mac except few. Here is what I found.

Adding audio or images to the tour location won't work on Safari, Camino, or Fire Fox. I had to use IE on PC to solve the problem. Can you fix this?

Again, this is an awesome site.Wink

Hi,
Thanks for your kind words!

We are unable to replicate your issue in Firefox on a PC.  Were you unable to add audio/image files using Firefox on a PC?  If so, could you be a little more specific as to what happened?  i.e. did the audio/image dropdown boxes not appear when you checked the appropriate checkboxes or was an error displayed when you tried to add the location?

Thanks, a lot, Scott

I think I can lend some answers here.
when i try to upload media files, i get a filename must be 31 characters or less error.
I've renamed the files with one letter plus the extension, ie, a.jpg, and it works.
however if i try to upload 2 files, even with one letter names, it doesn't work.
same error.
this is using safari, leopard 10.5.1.

I haven't tried firefox yet.

Could one of you try this again using safari?  We changed some code on the file upload page that will hopefully resolve this issue.

Let me know.

Thanks!

I had similar issue trying to upload Tourguide file to Garmin Nuvi 760 on Mac. The upload of the tour worked on the PC using Garmin Communicator Plugin.

I have a tour built, "Phoenix Cameras" with 87 POI's. Each POI has a 2 letter named MP3 file associated with it. When trying to use the single step upload option on my Macbook pro (intel), the file does not show bits uploading, it just goes right to the Transferred message. No files upload to the Nuvi. Also in trying to use the option to create a zip folder, the folder is created but he Garmin POI loader does not recognize the GPX file and will not upload the file or the tour.

The Web based utility is awesome, would be great to have the option to use speed instead of distance.

Happy coding

jdenson-
Did you try using download option #2 for Garmin TourGuide ("Download TourGuide GPI File")? That should allow you to download the GPI file to your Mac and then copy it to the /Garmin/POI folder on your Nuvi 760.

Thanks, Scott

Yes, the Garmin POI loader does not recognize the gpi file. The POI loader that mac is distributing is 2.01, it has no manual override. The only thing it allows you to do it pick the file.

I have even tried to let the file upload after the POI loader states it is unrecognized, but the file does not transfer.

Hope that helps

Great product

jdenson-
If you are downloading the gpi file directly, you do not need to use POI Loader at all. Simply explore the nuvi's drive contents and copy/paste the downloaded gpi file into the /Garmin/POI folder on your nuvi. Again--do not use POI Loader at all.

POI Loader only accepts gpX files. So if you plan on using POI Loader, select the third option -- "Download TourGuide Files". Then, download the zipped file, extract the contents to a directory, and then run POI Loader and point it to the gpx file located in the directory containing the zipped file's contents.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Scott
